Large Napoleon III “bonheur du jour” secretary desk. The structure is made of solid wood and ebonized veneer. The upper section features two hinged doors opening onto shelves, while the lower section comprises a writing surface resting on columns. The writing surface opens to reveal a leather blotter and small drawers. Exquisitely crafted with superb details: bone marquetry decoration throughout, wood marquetry with a 3D effect on the two large doors, decorative columns, etc. In very good vintage condition, with some signs of age and use (see photos).
